Building Financial Clarity Since 2019

We started caurithen because too many Australians were getting conflicting advice about their financial foundations. One bank would say everything looked solid, another would flag concerns, and nobody seemed interested in explaining the actual numbers.

So we built something different. Not financial planning or investment advice—just honest, detailed analysis of where you actually stand. We look at the same data banks use, break it down in plain language, and show you what the numbers really mean for your situation.

Six years later, we're still doing exactly that from our Port Macquarie office. Same mission, same straightforward approach.

How We Got Here

2019

First Analysis

Started with a single-room office and one question: could we analyze financial stability without selling products? Turns out, yes. Our first client was a cafe owner who'd been declined a business loan and couldn't get a straight answer why.

2022

Expanded Framework

Interest rate changes hit hard that year. We developed deeper analysis methods for variable debt scenarios and started tracking how different economic conditions affect stability profiles. Helped about 200 clients understand their actual risk exposure.

2025

Current Focus

Now working with families, small business owners, and people planning major purchases. We've analyzed over 800 financial situations and learned something new from each one. Still no product sales, still just analysis.

What Drives Our Work

These aren't aspirational values written for a website. They're the actual principles that guide how we conduct analysis and interact with clients. We wrote them down after three years of figuring out what worked and what didn't.

Complete Independence

We don't sell financial products, period. No insurance policies, no investment schemes, no affiliate arrangements. You pay for analysis, we provide analysis. Turns out this simple setup eliminates about 90% of potential conflicts.

Numbers Before Narratives

We start with your actual data—income, debts, expenses, assets. Then we run the calculations. The story comes from what the numbers show, not the other way around. Sometimes the picture is better than expected, sometimes worse, but it's always based on real figures.

Plain Language Reports

Financial jargon exists mostly to make simple concepts sound complicated. We explain debt-to-income ratios, liquidity buffers, and stress scenarios in normal language. If you can't understand our analysis, we haven't done our job properly.

Honest Limitations

We can analyze your current stability and model different scenarios. We can't predict market movements, guarantee loan approvals, or promise specific outcomes. Anyone who claims they can is probably selling something other than analysis.

Senior Financial Analyst

Elsie Drewett

"The most satisfying part? When someone finally understands why they were declined credit, or realizes their financial position is actually stronger than they thought. That clarity matters."

Elsie came to financial analysis from banking operations, where she spent seven years processing loan applications. She got tired of seeing good applications rejected without proper explanation and decided to focus purely on helping people understand their stability profiles.

She's handled over 600 individual analyses since joining caurithen in 2020. Her specialty is translating complex debt servicing calculations into practical scenarios people can actually use for planning.

Outside work, she's usually ocean swimming at Flynns Beach or volunteering with the local surf club—where we happen to have our office.

Financial Clarity You Can Actually Use

We believe everyone deserves to understand their financial stability without being sold something in the process. Whether you're planning a major purchase, dealing with debt concerns, or just want to know where you stand—proper analysis helps.

Our reports show you the same metrics lenders use, explained in clear terms. What you do with that information is entirely up to you. We're here to provide the analysis, not make decisions for you.
